Peter Botten, AC, CBE
Mr Botten is an experienced executive, most recently as the Managing Director of Oil Search Limited (ASX: OSH) for over 25 years (retired in February 2020), during which time he oversaw its development into a major global energy company. He has extensive worldwide experience in the oil and gas and resources industries, having held various senior technical, executive and board positions in a number of listed and government-owned bodies. Mr Botten was also the Non-Executive Chairman of AGL Limited (ASX:AGL) from October 2016 until September 2022. He has a Bachelor of Science in Geology from the Royal School of Mines at Imperial College London.
Mr Botten is currently a Non-Executive Director of Karoon Energy Limited (ASX:KAR) and Conrad Asia Energy Limited (ASX:CRD).
Following an executive career spanning mine operations, investment banking and private equity, Susie Corlett currently serves as a non-executive director of Mineral Resources Limited, is a non-executive director of Iluka Resources Ltd, is a Trustee of the AusIMM Education Endowment Fund and is a director of The Foundation for National Parks and Wildlife.
A geologist, Susie’s background is in mining operations and exploration. She was most recently an Investment Director for global mining private equity fund following a career in mining project finance and credit risk management for Standard Bank Limited, Deutsche Bank and Macquarie Bank. Susie’s qualifications include a Bachelor of Science (Honours in Geology) from the University of Melbourne. Susie is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and member of the AusIMM.
Mr Cox has more than 40 years of global experience in the resources industry across the commodities of steel, platinum, iron ore, copper and diamonds. He has held senior financial and executive leadership positions, including Managing Director of Rio Tinto Diamonds where he had operational responsibility for the Argyle, Diavik, and Murowa mines, as well as the Bunder Development project in India.
As CEO of Pacific Aluminium and later Managing Director, Rio Tinto Aluminium Pacific Operations, Mr Cox was responsible for various smelter, alumina refinery and bauxite operations across Australia and New Zealand. He also worked for BHP in both the Minerals and Iron Ore divisions, including as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Escondida in Chile and CFO Hartley Platinum based out of Zimbabwe.
Mr Cox is an experienced Board member having held positions across a number of companies, including the ASX-listed Energy Resources Australia. He is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and also holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Master of Business Administration from the University of Wollongong.
Ms Gillies is a corporate lawyer with over 30 years of experience in external and in-house legal counsel roles. This includes almost 20 years in various senior legal function and risk management roles at major engineering company, Sinclair Knight Merz, including the role of General Counsel and General Manager Risk.
Ms Gillies is currently a non-executive director of Monadelphous Group Limited (ASX:MND), BAC Holdings Pty Ltd (the holding company for the Bankstown and Camden Airports) and Yancoal Australia Limited (ASX:YAL).
Mr Harris has more than 26 years’ experience in financial markets and investment banking, including advising mining corporates on strategy, mergers and acquisitions, and capital markets, including as Managing Director – Head of Metals and Mining at Citi. Mr. Harris has a Master of Engineering (Mining) and a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance), and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Mr Harris is the non-executive Chairman of Aeon Metals Limited (ASX: AML), Highfield Resources Limited (ASX: HFR) and Koonenberry Gold Limited (ASX: KNB).
Mr Vassie is a mining engineer with over 35 years of experience in management and operational roles within the global resources industry. Most recently, he was Managing Director and CEO of St Barbara Limited (ASX:SBM) from 2014 to 2020.
Prior to that, Mr Vassie was Managing Director and CEO of Inova Resources Limited (ASX:IVA). Preceding this, he held various senior management and operational roles across almost 20 years at Rio Tinto Limited (ASX:RIO).
Mr Vassie is currently the non-executive chairman of Ramelius Resources Limited (ASX:RMS) and a non-executive director of Federation Mining Pty Ltd.

Interim Chief Executive Officer
Mr Graham joined Aurelia Metals as General Manager – Growth in March 2022, and was named Interim Chief Executive Officer in November the same year.
Mr Graham is a Mining Engineer and finance graduate with more than 25 years of experience across a broad range of commodities and geographies. Prior to establishing his own consultancy in minerals industry growth, Mr Graham held a range of executive positions at MMG, heading business development, M&A, strategy, and project development. During his time there, MMG grew into a material global miner. Mr Graham had previously held business development roles with OZ Minerals and Zinifex. His career began in a range site supervisory and engineering roles with BHP, from which he transitioned to business evaluation, business improvement and then development activities in their corporate and divisional teams.
Chief Operating Officer
Mr Trout joined Aurelia Metals as Chief Operating Officer in November 2019.
Mr Trout is a Mining Engineer with 25 years of experience in technical, operational and executive roles. He was most recently Executive General Manager (Technical Services and Studies) for Asian regional copper-gold producer, PanAust Limited. Prior to this, Mr Trout was the CEO of Caledon Coal Pty Limited, operator of the Cook metallurgical coal mine in Queensland. Mr Trout has also held senior operational and executive roles with Perilya Limited, Newcrest Mining Limited (where he spent the majority of his 10 years in underground operational and management positions) and Mount Isa Mines Limited.
Chief Financial Officer
Martin Cummings joined Aurelia Metals as Chief Financial Officer in December 2022.
Mr Cummings is a highly qualified mining executive with over 25 years of financial, commercial, treasury and investor relations experience.
Prior to joining Aurelia Metals, Mr Cummings held the position of General Manager Investor Relations with major Australian gold producer, Evolution Mining. Mr Cummings also held General Manager positions leading Evolution Mining’s commercial, treasury and project approvals activities.
Before joining Evolution, Mr Cummings held several senior positions with Newcrest Mining and Lihir Gold.
Mr Cummings holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting), a Graduate Diploma of Corporate Governance and Risk Management and is a member of CPA Australia.
General Manager – Peak Mine
Matthew Nuttall joined Aurelia Metals as General Manager of its Peak Mine in January 2023.
A mining engineer with 28 years of experience, Mr Nuttall has worked for mine operators and contractors in operational and management roles, predominately in underground metalliferous mines.
Mr Nuttall joins Aurelia Metals from Redpath Australia where he held the position of Senior Site Executive and Operations Manager at the Lady Loretta Mine and northwest Queensland.
Mr Nuttall’s management experience also includes tenure as Underground Mine Manager at the Cracow Mine, and Operations Manager at the Mt Carlton Mine.
General Manager – Hera Mine
Mr Robert Walker joined Aurelia Metals in June 2021 as General Manager of Hera Mine.
Mr Walker joined Aurelia from MMG’s Rosebery Mine in Tasmania where he was General Manager. Rob has 30 years of operational experience gained from his leadership of industrial minerals operations in South Africa and Australia and career progression through various roles with Xstrata Zinc that culminated in his tenure as Mine Manager for the George Fisher Mine north of Mount Isa. His strong track record in delivering operational efficiencies and mine safety, production and profitability improvement is underpinned by Rob’s leadership, general management and operational knowledge. He holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Mining and Mineral Engineering and is studying for a Master of Business Administration degree.
General Manager – Dargues Mine
Mr Angus Wyllie joined Aurelia Metals in June 2021 as General Manager of Dargues Gold Mine.
Mr Wyllie’s 20 years of mine site experience has been acquired in site-based roles across a range of metalliferous operations and mining methods in Australia and Canada. He has led large teams and been responsible for underground block cave and open pit mining operations, whole of site technical services, exploration and life of asset planning, capital projects and HSEC functions. He has a degree in mining engineering, a Master of Business Administration and a NSW Mining Engineering Manager competency.
