Aurelia’s Partnership Continues to Support Local Revegetation Efforts
Aurelia Metals’ partnership with Upper Shoalhaven Landcare is continuing to deliver strong outcomes for community-led environmental initiatives, with recent activity at the Dargues site highlighting the success of this collaboration.
Following the announcement in March 2025 of our agreement with Upper Shoalhaven Landcare, the former geology shed at our Dargues site was transformed into a Landcare Nursery Hub.
On 31 March 2026, the Nursery Hub hosted a Landcare Working Bee, where 22 volunteers came together to process the results of the 2025–26 ‘Southern Tablelands Tree Start Growers Network’ growing season following the ‘March Tubestock Round Up’. Thousands of plants were collected from growers in Bungendore, Cooma, Braidwood and Michelago and delivered to the Nursery Hub.
Volunteers sorted and counted more than 10,000 native seedlings grown by over 80 community members, unpacked propagation kits for reuse, assembled nursery benches and prepared plants for distribution across the region.
The Nursery Hub plays a critical role in supporting both Upper Shoalhaven Landcare and their project partners in Upper Murrumbidgee Landcare’s propagation efforts, providing a central location for storage, coordination and plant preparation. Aurelia’s provision of this space enables the program to scale its impact and support revegetation projects across the region.
Aurelia’s Chief Development and Technical Officer, Andrew Graham, spoke about the ongoing partnership with Upper Shoalhaven Landcare.
“This partnership reflects our broader commitment to sustainability and community engagement. By working with organisations like Upper Shoalhaven Landcare, we are helping to support biodiversity, restore local ecosystems and contribute to long-term environmental outcomes,” Andrew said.
We look forward to continuing our partnership and supporting the next growing season.
