Peak Mine – Chesney Exploration Update
On 18 January 2023, we were excited to announce the results of our recent drilling program at the Chesney North deposit, located at the North Mine at Peak.
Every completed drill hole in the program delivered significant intersections of copper, with many also returning meaningful intersections of gold.
The successful six-hole program targeted extensions to the north of the existing Mineral Resource at the Chesney deposit along strike from planned mining areas. The results of the program will be included in our 2024 Mineral Resource and Ore Reserve update.
Chief Development and Technical Officer, Andrew Graham spoke about the program.
“The success of this exploration program highlights the prospectivity around our Peak Mine which already hosts an enviable copper resource of 16 million tonnes @ 1.8% copper and 0.9 grams per tonne gold.
“These exploration results have the potential to add to this resource and provide further optionality in how we sequence the transition of Peak from a zinc-lead dominant to a copper dominant mining operation in the medium term,” Andrew said.
The results of the program are available in the full ASX Announcement: Peak Mine – Chesney Exploration Update.
