Mr Dan Clifford
Managing Director and CEO
Mr Clifford joined Aurelia Metals as Managing Director and CEO in November 2019.
Mr Clifford is a Mining Engineer with more than 25 years of experience across the industry. He was most recently the Managing Director and CEO of Stanmore Coal Limited (ASX: SMR) (Stanmore), a role he held from November 2016 to October 2019. During his tenure there, Stanmore saw significant growth in both output and profitability at its flagship Isaac Plains metallurgical coal mine in Queensland. This dynamic was reflected in Stanmore’s strong share price performance over this period.
Prior to this, Mr Clifford was CEO of Solid Energy New Zealand Limited from March 2014 to November 2016. He guided the company through a period of significant financial pressure and challenging market conditions, including leading an asset sales program. Mr Clifford has also held senior technical and operational positions for Glencore plc, Anglo American plc and BHP Group Limited.
Mr Peter Trout
Chief Operating Officer
Mr Trout joined Aurelia Metals as Chief Operating Officer in November 2019
Mr Trout is a Mining Engineer with 25 years of experience in technical, operational and executive roles. He was most recently Executive General Manager (Technical Services and Studies) for Asian regional copper-gold producer, PanAust Limited. Prior to this, Mr Trout was the CEO of Caledon Coal Pty Limited, operator of the Cook metallurgical coal mine in Queensland. Mr Trout has also held senior operational and executive roles with Perilya Limited, Newcrest Mining Limited (where he spent the majority of his 10 years in underground operational and management positions) and Mount Isa Mines Limited.
Mr Ian Poole
Chief Financial Officer / Company Secretary
Mr Poole joined Aurelia Metals as Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary in July 2020.
Mr Poole is a highly experienced commercial executive with over 20 years in senior roles within listed global resources and engineering companies. He has held key commercial positions within several metal mining businesses including the US business unit of Pasminco Limited, Savage Resources Limited and Outokumpu Mining Australia Pty Limited.
Mr Poole most recent position was Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary at metallurgical coal producer, Stanmore Coal Limited (ASX:SMR), a role he held from May 2017 to June 2020. Prior to that, Mr Poole was Chief Financial Officer at mineral processing and infrastructure company, Sedgman Limited (previously listed) between 2010 and 2016 and General Manager, Commercial, at Rio Tinto Coal Australia Limited.
Mr Adrian Bell
Mr Bell (MBA, GAICD & BBA, Industrial Relations & Marketing) joined Aurelia Metals as General Manager, Risk and Sustainability (Including Human Resources) in a consulting capacity in December 2019 and then permanently from 1 July 2020
Mr Bell is a highly experienced executive having 32 years’ domestic and international mining experience in senior roles within Human Resources and Sustainability, with BHP and MIM Holdings/Xstrata Limited. Prior to joining Aurelia Mr Bell had 13 years as an Executive with a mid-tier and successful ASX100 mining company, PanAust Limited as Executive General Manager, Support Services, responsible for both corporate and operational human resources and sustainability functions (health and safety, environment and community) as well as risk management, insurance, external affairs and corporate communication.
Mr Craig Thomas
Mr Craig Thomas joined Aurelia Metals in April 2020 as General Manager of Peak Gold Mine.
Mr Thomas is a highly experienced executive with over 30 years' experience in the mining industry. Possessing strong technical, operational and commercial skills, he has led complex gold and base metal operations and acquired extensive underground mining experience from roles in Australia, PNG and Africa. Mr Thomas has held corporate and site based leadership roles with Weatherly International, Lihir Gold, IAMGold, Placer Dome, Western Metals and Mt Isa Mines.
Mr Thomas graduated from The University of Queensland in Brisbane where he was awarded a Bachelor of Engineering (Mining) with First Class Honours.
